Not every sneaker needs to look futuristic. Sometimes an older idea makes the strongest impression. New Balance takes that approach with its upcoming Made in UK Allerdale “Moorland Textures,” a shoe influenced by traditional British outdoor clothing.
Inspired by the Outdoors
Wax-finished premium suede gives the upper a worn-in, weather-minded character. Across the vamp, crosshatch-textured suede recalls the surface of waxed cotton jackets long associated with the British countryside. The Bison and Military Olive pairing reinforces that connection with warm brown and muted green.
Traditional Appearance, Modern Comfort
The Allerdale uses a cupsole unit with FuelCell cushioning and an OrthoLite insole. Hiking-inspired D-ring lacing and a rubber outsole complete the practical-looking construction. New Balance lists the upper as premium suede and confirms that it contains cow leather.
Shervarino Take
The waxed suede makes this release interesting without loud colors or oversized branding. I like the understated brown-and-olive combination and the way the materials tell the story. At nearly $250, the construction has to carry the appeal, but the direction makes sense for fall.
